Linoleum Repair |
During cold weather a linoleum installer had put down three pieces of linoleum in the
kitchen of an unoccupied mobile home. He failed to inform the owner of the mobile home
that she needed to warm the place in advance. As a result the linoleum pieces did not come
quite together, leaving an approximately 1/8" - 1/4" space between each piece.
I advised the owner to place masking tape on the linoleum on both sides of the crack
while I mixed the EZ-Poly.
Mixing less than ½ teaspoon of EZ-Poly parts A & B at a time, I applied the
mixture a little at a time with a craft stick, allowing it to seep into the crack. After
finishing an approximately 6' length, I went back and added more EZ-Poly to bring up the
level even to the floor.
After I finished the 2nd crack I waited a while, I removed the masking tape and scraped
off the excess EZ-Poly with a putty knife. I advised the owner of the home to apply a
sealant the next day.
The project came out beautifully. The owner was delighted. The EZ-Poly blended in so
well with her linoleum, that it could only be seen on close inspection.
Observation: Not knowing just how much time it would take to apply the EZ-Poly mixture
down the length of the crack, I mixed only a tiny amount at a time. It took 2 mixes per
crack. In retrospect I realize that I could have mixed about 1 teaspoon each of parts A
& B. This would have given me plenty of mixture and time to do one space.
