Hendersonville, NC "Sticky Bear" |
Teenage boys and maybe other bad people kept tipping the bear statue off its stand.
Here in Hendersonville, NC this past summer we've had a Main Street theme of
"bears." Merchants up down the street buy molded bears, decorate them with
paint, clothing, angel wings
whatever suits their fancy and conveys the theme of
their stores. At summer's end the bears will be auctioned off for charity. Nice!
Townspeople and tourists LOVE these bears, and take pictures of themselves next to
them, in all kinds of odd and funny poses.
To prevent unwarranted "travel", each bear is bolted to a concrete slab. The
one in front of the Travel and Tourism office is even up on a stucco-covered pedestal, and
sure enough, that was a challenge for some individuals as rotten as was I in my youth.
So, we put the bear back in place, jacked up one end & then the other and put
EZ-PolyŽ down to glue the bear in place. It has been several months now, and that bear
has stayed put! EZ-PolyŽ is a glue, structural filler, and sealant.
